Climate Forward
Form and function were equally considered in this landscape. Creating spaces to enjoy the natural beauty of the gorge while keeping an eye toward our changing climate: drought tolerance, firewire function, native habitat support and species diversity were all taken into account.
Birdlife was of special concern for these nature lovers so we created a plant palette of primarily native species to provide food, forage and shelter for both birds and the insects our local birds need to survive. Several water features located outside viewing windows were immediately discovered by some feathered friends, an old snag was left to provide nesting opportunities and half the property was sown with a native meadow seed to create a more diverse habitat than the surrounding pasture land.
